Hi all :waving,

Im catz and i live in Auckland NZ. I have grown various orchid types mostly oncidiums cos i love them, cattleyas and Zygopetalums. Unfortunately i rent and as such i have to move fairly often, and even more unfortunately in one of my recent moves i couldnt take my little collection of about eight or nine plants with me, so i left them with a "friend" who without my input decided to "rehome" them all, along with several potted fruit trees that i had owned for years!
Not happy....:((
Anyway im now in a place that hopefully ill be in for a little while that has a lovely shaded area(car port, open on two sides and roofed with translucent material....voila! instant shade house LOL) and im slowly building up some orchids again. atm i have a black rose oncidium, and a little white onc twinkle. I am hoping to get some more zygos soon cos i love them so much. I had two lovely zygos that i miss a lot.

Hey catz welcome 🙂 Sorry to hear about your previous collection. I would be mad too! I love to hear that you will be rebuilding your collection. The best way to deal with a bad situation is to walk away with a smile on your face, not letting it keep you down ♡

Is that 'friend' still your 'friend'? They should have at least asked you in advance before re-homing the orchids. What was the original plan though? Was it mentioned that you were going to come and collect them again? Maybe some miscommunications. Definitely a shame that they got re-homed without a pre-notification though.
