Vanda leaf rot

Hi, apparently my V. Khaoyai has leaf rot. Not sure what to do. Should I cut the rot off using new razor blades or treat w/something. Will attach a pic when I figure out how.

Thanks for your help. LeeB

A picture would help as well as a description of growing conditions. I don’t grow Vanda but with my Phals leaf rot issues are usually due to a combination of infection and cold. I do cut, but I also need to keep these plants warmer.

It’d be easier to tell with a picture, but cold damage can look a lot like rot too. If it is cold damage there’s no need to cut. It’ll look bad cosmetically but once things are warmed up the damage stops.

It is rare for Vandas to rot unless in a very warm, extremely humid environment. Leaf damage is far more often a sign of underwatering or cold.

There is a sticky thread on how to post photos in the Beginners forum, accesible from the left yellow menu.
