Please advice suitable media for :
Epidendrum , label says: Epidendrum compact orange BS.
may be a hybrid,
Grammatophyllum, entitled Gr Speciosum sp. BS.
Climatic conditions subtropical

Plants do not decide what medium they will do best in, nor will one that is "great" for me automatically be good for you.

You have to find something that is readily available, and that when used with the container of your choice, provides the proper mix of moisture and air for the plant under your watering habits.

I think it's easy to picture that in one's environment, one medium, if used in a plastic pot, clay pot, or basket, will provide different root zone environments, so we can extend that thinking to the medium itself, as well.
