Flushing when reservoir is an external saucer

Hello all,

This may be a silly question, but I have two orchids in SH in plastic pots that have ample drainage on the bottom, where the pots sit in a saucer that I keep filled with water.

My question is, do I need to do something for flushing other than removing the pots from the saucers, and running water through? It runs through much more quickly than it does with the pots having the 2 holes on the side. I'm wondering if I need to somehow slow the flushing process?

I change the water in the saucers every time I flush, and I flush 2x week.

Thanks!

Sounds like you're doing it right.

And for the record, a faster flush is not that much different, but simply requires more water to do it right.
