Zygopetalum in bloom
 

:hello..In on 7/11/18 I purchased a Zygopetalum Jumpin Jack with 5 spikes. All 5 spikes have bloomed (not all the buds), it is supposed to be fragrant, at this time it has no fragrance, but she is beautifull (see attached)....Zoren

I have found that many of the newer Zygopetalum hybrids are not particularly fragrant... some of the species and older hybrids are extremely fragrant. I think it is sort of like roses... in breeding to favor other characteristics, fragrance is often lost.

Nice plant! I found my Zygopetalum are most fragrant mid morning after a watering in bright light.
