How To Make A Website For Free?
My wife and myself need to put together 2 different web sites.
Am looking for some knowledge/help here. We are not versed in anything to do with putting together/opening a web site store. My store is for selling plants etc My wife needs to open a charity store with written stories with the ability for the reader to translate the message into their own language. She is already doing this and for some years now but it is on a blog site. We have no html knowledge. Any opinion about this type of approach Make Your Own Stunning Website | It's Fast, Easy & Free | wix.com#8206; Make Your Own Website | Wix.com If I could just find out if this option posted was going to have a reasonable outcome or if it is nowhere near the direction needed? Am sure I can battle through but I do not want to put the effort into the wrong approach or just a waste of time. |
You get what you pay for. You will need to pay the broker who handles your transactions.
Web sites are vastly more complex to create than most people realize. Maintaining them is also a huge task that must be done at least weekly. Running a commercial Web site takes as much time and effort as running a business in a building. It takes many hours of work by skilled people to build a decent Web site. They won't work for free. Selling online means you need to pay somebody to handle transactions. This is why sites like eBay and Etsy exist. |
Well so far the free website is out. No go zone. Have received some more than great information about websites. A bit of my background to follow.
Have been a 1,500 listings per week eBay store for around 7 years now. For some time have been looking for a way out of selling on eBay. "Word of mouth" has worked for me in recent times very nicely but it is small group of people but it is working very well. It is simply so fragile. It can not be counted on. A better way to put it is I believe eBay is on the nose as a small seller friendly site. For me it started with "best match" or you had to meet a eBay criteria or feedback + etc to be somewhere near the front page. My searches are picking up more websites and the companies that will "find the item for you" that never do, that I never click on. The biggest/strongest thing that is coming up for me is do not rush into doing any part of this. It is way more important than I ever imagined. My eBay Anchor Store package fees would be $550 monthly. And yes that is the store I had for many years. It is going to be interesting to see how far this amount of funds will get me with website maintenance costs etc. The journey continues. |
Wow! Your total would be $6600 per year!
Right now, firstrays.com pays less than $100 per year for my web host, about $100 per year for the SSL certificate, and I use Opencart for my store (free software but I have probably spent an additional hundred bucks or so on enhancements) and WordPress (free) for the informational site. There are lots of built-in payment modules in Opencart, so you simply have to tie in your account and you're good to go. Now that my product line has been so drastically reduced in size, I have considered an e-commerce add-in for the WP site and dropping the store as a separate entity, but all is working well, so haven't bothered. I do all of the product and article additions, deletions , and module configuration myself, but there are independent contractors that can handle that for you, at very reasonable rates. |
estación seca comment has been missed in the process of it all and it needs to be highlighted because it is very sound information for someone who has a couple of dozen items they would like to sell on ebay over time.

No matter what website I end up with I will still have a smaller eBay store. To ignore the eBay market place is not good for business. |
