"Root Farm" All Purpose LED Grow Light?
 

I saw this light, "Root Farm" All Purpose LED Grow Light, on clearance at my local garden center. Since I don't think I have sufficient lighting for some of the more light demanding orchids, au naturel from my windows, I thought it might do the trick.

Opinions on whether this will help with the orchids that require more light (ie Cattleyas)?

There's not enough information. Go to the manufacturer's Web page and look up the light specifications.

There isn't much room under the light for most Cattleyas. You would probably need to hang it.

You can ask the people at the garden center what kinds of plants grow well under it, but I suspect they don't know.

And it has extendable legs that go up about another 6"-8" plus has a spot for hanging...I just had it at the lowest setting for the pics.

And the people at my garden store know nothing about orchids. They have a beautiful display and lots of stuff but know less than I do, which is scary lol

I don't know. I would compare it to lamps people here have talked about and compare prices. There is an entire forum for growing under lights.

I didn’t even see that section! I tried a search in here and the advanced forum for LED and got little to no results.
