Bumps on leaves in Cyc warscewiczii a problem?
2 Attachment(s)
This year I purchased a new Cyc warscewiczii hybrid, and noticed that the leaves in the new pseudobulb have these bumps on them. They don't look like lesions, and I don't see any pests on it. They appear on the surface of the leaves, but nothing on the underside. They don't have any discoloration either.
Someone told me it wasn't a big deal. Looking for second opinions? Is it contagious? I have other nearby orchids which are not affected, but I wasn't sure if that was just luck. |
I have seen such bumps myself and while I have no idea what causes them, they seem to be no issue.

Mine had for 2 successive years growths and this year nada. No rhyme or reason.

Should be no problem. I find that leaves in this group tend to get unattractive issues as they age through the summer... As long as they are green, don't cut because they are feeding the plant. Eventually they drop off when the plant goes into dormancy.
