Hello from an orchid newbie!
 

Hello everyone!

While indoor gardening is one of my favorite things, I'll admit that I'm probably a bit of an amateur compared to the rest of you. I've mostly stuck to succulents and air plants thus far... but I recently received my first orchid as a gift from a family friend and grew attached to it quite quickly. Some research and a few days later, and I wound up getting myself a second. : )

Unfortunately, I soon learned that beautiful flowers are not necessarily an indicator of perfect health with orchids, and that the lovely phalaenopsis I was gifted had a whole host of issues to work through (mealybugs, root rot, bacterial spots... sure hope I can save it!). So, I think I'll be working on stabilizing the two I have for the moment.

Anyway, I look forward to learning more about orchids and participating in this forum! : )
