First bloom on this one. Bought as a small seedling and it has taken about 2 years to get it up to size. Its a really strong grower for me but it doesnt seem to floriforous. After keeping the night tempas at around 55 degrees and with a humidity of around 70%, this is what it produced.

thanks for looking,
Scott

Awesome flower Scott. Where do you do your growing ?
I think that as the plant ages it will throw more flowers for you.
I have a masdie that did the same thing only one flower, but it has another spike now, so I guess I'll get a single flower every 6 months, but mine is a fairly small plant. The flower did last a really long time though and being that I live in Florida, I was quite surprised. We'll see how this next one does in the summer like heat.
Good job growing,
Laura

I do my growing in a south window in my dining room. I can keep the temps rather cool in there at night because it is closed off by a set of french doors. I run an ultrasonic humidifier on a timer thats turns on and off for a few hours durring the day and then off at night. Humidity runs about 60% durring the day and then runs up to75 durring the cooler nights. Here is a pic of the plant as a whole. As you can see it is fairly good sized aready and I did divide it once already. Maybe that set things back a little.

Looks like you've found the trick to getting these to bloom!

I have a little one that is blooming size but I think I'd better lower the night temps too, to 55 degrees. I think my low right now, is about 65.
