Hi!

Hi from NYC! I’m pretty new at keeping orchids alive, hopefully I’ll have some better luck with some occasional feedback!

Welcome, Geeksrejoyce.
It's not a matter of luck but knowing what your orchids need. How to achieve that, we'll help you!:)

So far, I have:
Aerangis mystacidii
Aerangis Pioneer (mystacidii x kotschyana)
Dendrobium Little Atro
Dendrobium Micro Chip (one mounted, one potted)
Oncidium Heaven Scent Redolence
Oncidium Twinkle
Paphiopedilum NoID
Mini Phals (from Trader Joe’s, NoID) and a random, separated phal keiki
Wilsonara Eye Candy Pinkie
Zygopetalum Jumpin Jack

I love them! I’m admit I’m trying to grow them in my tiny NYC apartment so humidity and space might be my biggest issue right now. Even with humidity trays and a humidifier going, sometimes it drops down to the 40s and my Aerangis mystacidii is suffering (that one is mounted). It’s sad because that one is also my favorite right now.

That's a nice assortment. If you can add a few leafy houseplants to the mix, it will help boost your humidity. Perhaps lowering your mount into a vase?

That’s a great idea! It’s currently sitting inside the glass with my staghorn fern but to no avail. This is one year I will not complain about the NYC humidity! I’m going to lower it into a pot and see how that goes, thanks!

I’m a bad plant mom. Forgot my two Tolumnias
