Rth. Congaree 'Mendenhall'
Received the a while back, labelled as something I've been after for some time. As usual, wrong name on label.
This is what I got, not unhappy, didn't know it was in this country. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/870/4...8ebb7004_z.jpg20180410_152614 by WEST VIC, on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/902/4...580f3e31_z.jpg20180410_152600 by WEST VIC, on Flickr |
'Mendenhall' and 'Newberry' are clonal names used by Carter & Holmes Orchids, who are on Mendenhall Road in Newberry, South Carolina, USA. Is it possible to bring orchids into Australia, or does the procedure make it effectively impossible? What about mericlone flasks?

To bring LIVE plants in is extremely difficult. A nursery lost thousands of dollars worth of plant because the "paperwork" wasn't just right. They have their own quarantine house as well & it is expensive. You can bring in flasks with the correct paperwork & inspection fees which could see some flasks destroyed. Too risky as far as I'm concerned given the fact that Australian bred Orchids are the equal or better than the overseas stuff, Cattleya's particularly.
