My setup/plants

Thought I would show you some photos of my setup/orchids. If the images are too large/too many, I apologize, haven't quite figured this out yet.
Anyway, with 2 yrs experience growing orchids, I still got a lot to learn. I am a bit eccentric also, you can see some Christmas/Halloween stuff among the plants, I leave it out most of the year, unless I need the room for another orchid of course. There are other plants among the orchids, I thought that pitcher plant had the most alien looking flower I ever saw. Also, that gold spotted phal is special, it's a 50 year old plant that was my moms (RIP) did nothing for years until I put it under a single LED bulb, in 2 weeks it sent up a fat spike with 10 buds on it! I swear by those things, got them all over the room...

Well, it uploaded all my photos but when I went to post them it said my submission couldn't be processed because a security key was missing??? What the heck does that mean?

The server maintains contact with a page on your computer for only a certain amount of time. It does this by assigning the page something like a password, the "token." It keeps the token in memory for the time limit.

If you don't interact with the page before this time expires the server dumps the token and fails to recognize the page. So you need to write messages at one sitting without interruptions. If it takes a long time to compose the message it won't be accepted.

Some people compose messages in a separate text editor, then paste them into the Orchid Board text box. This way you don't lose your work.

Barbara, I have two questions: what is the very first plant and where do you live? You have a beautiful hodgepodge that was delightful to look at. Good job! Could you stand back and take a picture of the whole tribe. It looks like an interesting room.

My 1st orchid and setup

Thank you for the kind words Dolly. I live in a little rural town in the southern tier of western NY known as Wellsville. It's like someone carved a hole in the mountains around here and dropped this town in! Really isolated, farming community. Wellsville used to be an oil town back in the day, when we first moved here my husband thought we moved to Mayberry, then 1 day we were driving around and saw a sign saying the 1st person to discover oil in Wellsville was named O.P. Taylor. Never questioned him again.
I live in an old 1915 built victorian. These older homes seem very conducive to growing plants, most have enclosed porches with huge windows (mine has 2 enclosed, and a balcony to boot) and plenty of window seats which we know what they are good for!
Living far from civilization, I utilize what can be found around here, so my setup is just as much a hodgepodge as my plants. For instance, I found that drafting lamp at a barn sale for 4 dollars, stuck a LED bulb in it, and it's just wonderful, so easily adjustable. Not very asthetic looking, but it's not in the main part of the house anyway. I have orchids growing in hanging colanders, a cattleya with no medium and it's loving it.
My first orchid? Funny you should ask that, it's just coming into bloom now. 1 of my rescues, which I just read is NOT recommended to start out with rescues, supposedly turns people off to orchids because they can be too challenging. Hogwash! That is a Wilsonara Pacific Panache "Fireside Fever" I hopefully got a photo of, not upside down like some others I took.
I took a few more photos of my plant room, I can't get it all in 1 photo.
Thank you to Estacion Seca for explaining that error message to me, I am a copy and paste girl now:)

What a terrific plant area! You have some very nice orchids.

It is good to be a little eccentric. It just means you are brave enough to be yourself. If everyone conformed, the world would be a most dull and boring place. :)
