Reintroducing myself. Now in Goleta, CA.
Hi,
I have been moving around and I did not have space or light for orchids. So they were all rehomed. But I am now in Goleta, California. I attended the International Orchid Show in Santa Barbara yesterday. I returned home with eight plants. At the show, I was given a flyer describing varieties to grow outdoors. So squeezing chids back onto the windowsill for the winter is no longer an issue. |
Awesome! It's definitely nice to be able to grow some orchids outside! Welcome back!

Welcome back! How nice that you are able to get back into growing orchids. :)

Thanks everyone!
Things have been frantic with me. But I have managed to pick up a small bag of bark, and dunk the bare root Leilia purpurata plants. My first experience with bare root orchids, and I am not really sure how to handle them. The other orchids are arranged together in a bowl propping one another up. They are all in small pots and top heavy. I also have a few older orchids I am trying to save. But I have lapsed into neglect of those long ago. I do not drive a car or even a bicycle, so bringing home supplies requires careful logistics. The nearest big box store had bark but it was very water soaked and so I avoided or. I was concerned that it had a lot of mold spores. |
