Phal propagation by cuttings

Today, when I got home from work, one of my phals fell on the floor and three two spikes were broken. One of them has flowers, another one has 5 buds and the last has only nodes.
I would like to try to propagate by cuttings using this last one.
What's the best and easy method to try? I'm not interested in buying any materials and/or chemicals so...

Thanks

It probably won't work without some specialty items, chemicals and sterile technique. Look up "Phalaenopsis stem propagation." It's a common way small growers propagate Phals.

Ok, thanks
This is an interesting topic to me.

If you have your aseptic technique down solidly, it *should* be possible to do a home-brew method, assuming things like agar and some vitamins don't count as special chemicals to you. I hear you can get these at select grocery stores (at least in the US). If you already have a little bit of the keiki paste hormone (BAP) in, that's great and will give you a higher success rate, but most important is the temperature - keep above 26C, I do mine usually at 27C. If it's too cool the dormant node may develop into an aberrant spike instead of a plantlet.

Well, I gave it a try... not much faith on it...
Anyway, if it works I'll share my technique...if not, I'll keep quiet to spare myself from public shame.;)
