More State of the Yard
Didn't get pics of the Rhync. gigantia Red X Alba like I said I would in my last thread. It turned out to be a white flower with a lip that turned yellow as the flower aged, not overly impressed with it.
I was hoping for a red or red spotted flower. But, the Onc. sotatum turned out to be what it was supposed to be. I'm ecstatic. I also grabbed a few more pics of orchids in bloom and other thing on my plate right now. They are here: Hawai'i / Yard Orchids / Yard Orchids - '18-02-16 | Mike's Photo Gallery - Alaska - Hawai'i & Elsewhere |
Nice!

Beautiful pictures as usual, I am so envious of your yard! That little Oncidium is adorable and I love that bloom color, congratulations on finally having your plant.
It appears you have much to do, it may be a lot of work but with that environment it has to be enjoyable. You have abundant rain and we’re expecting snow tomorrow, no fair! Thanks for sharing your slice of paradise!!! |
Thanks!

Beautiful, I always love seeing photos of your little slice of orchid paradise. I especially love the Max ten mounted to the tree, it looks amazing like that! Wish I could do that with my monster plant.

If you get a chance I'd be really interested to know the name of that Epidendrum intergeneric hybrid.

It could be an Epi. Paradise Orange [stamfordianum X Hokulea], but I don't think so. That one is in another location. It's also in bloom right now. I just forgot to look at it and get pics. Thanks folks. There will be more coming up soon. Several of my Dendrobiums, species and hybrids, are in bud and will be blooming shortly. Oh, and my Onc. Mendenhall 'Hildos' looks as if the buds are beginning to swell in preparation for blooming. |
Waiting patiently...

Epicatanthe Hsinying Orange Ching Hua = Cattlianthe Trick or Treat x Epidendrum pseudepidendrum I looked up the other one but found this instead... Epidendrum Hula Dancer = Epidendrum stamfordianum x Epidendrum Hokulea Does yours look like this one? |
That is a solid Epi. flower.
That is the one in the other location that I haven't posted a pic of in this thread. The one pictured is the Epic. The tags I was able to find are getting a bit worn. "Epi. Hula Dancer" was worn off the tag. Paradise Orange is the grex name for the Hula Dancer Hybrid. Epi. Hula Dancer 'Paradise Orange' [Epi. stamfordianum X Hokulea] is how the tag read originally. I remember that specifically as the one in the other location and not shown here. I was a bit confused because I didn't see Hula Dancer on the tag. I knew something was missing, but couldn't remember exactly what it was. PS: Don't ask me to get a photo of the Hula Dancer. It is much higher up in another tree and obscured by the tree's branches. Plus, we've had a thunder storm running all day that is forecast to continue through tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night. The cats and I all think it's too wet to be outside right now. |
