Morm. New Hybrid (Morm. Midnight Hooker 'Hot Lips' x Morm. Mark Mills 'Hot Lips')

First blooming, 9 flowers in a 3” pot. The outcome of this cross has certainly surprised me, not a single dark red flower out of the 6 or so I’ve seen posted! Ah well. This is nice. The flowers open with a yellow background that fades to a nice creamy white after a day or so. Scent is nice, spicy citrus

Mormodes rolfeana

This one had a short growing season, recovering from a Hemisphere shift. But the flowers are dark and large, holding two pods now :)

Wow, that Morm. (Midnight Hooker x Mark Mills) is a huge surprise! I have both of the parents, both dark burgundy. Genetics is amazing... Both parents do have some light-colored species in their pedigrees that clearly don't show up until the next generation. Cool...
