Dendrobium Nobile

My husband purchased this dendrobium nobile in bloom. Such a beautiful plant. The seller told him to wait with repotting until it’s finished blooming but it’s growing in soil and it’s kind of wet. Let it be and wait or repot asap? Thank you!

Personally I would repot as that medium looks terrible.

I know! That’s my feeling too. When it was potted I put my finger into the pot to see what’s the potting mix like and was horrified to find out it was plain old soil :(

I agree with Bil.
Use material with good drainage as medium. I personaly use medium size bark mixed with leca. After repoting don't water it for a few days. Also these like to have a winter rest with much less water. When it starts to have new growths then you must increase watering frequency for, at least (depending on your temps and humidity), once/week.

I repotted them. They actually had a surprisingly good root system. I separated them into two different pots. That was good, got two plants for the price of one
