Strange New Leaf on Phal
Hi All - first post here. I have a white phal (generic) that I bought back in April. It bloomed for 5 months before entering a growth phase, and the plant's newest leaf (about 5 inches long at this point) has a very odd shape. The leaf's edges almost look crimped - besides the shape, everything else about the leaf looks healthy. Green, glossy - no spotting or anything else. The aerial roots are thriving. Any ideas what the leaf deformation could be symptomatic of?

Welcome, boxter. It's hard to tell what is going on with a leaf without seeing a picture. You will be able to post pictures after you make 5 posts, so just make a few comments on other posts and then get your picture up. You will get some helpful comments that way.

As you describe it, it sounds like a normal leaf. Not all Phal leaves are flat. However, I agree that a picture would be helpful.

I don't think that's cause for alarm.

The picture's rather small and dark but from what I can tell the growth doesn't seem abnormal.

I have several leaves like that. No worries. I even have roots that stick straight up from the bark. Phals can be weird.

Welcome Boxter :) What do you have those phals planted in? It looks from the pic to be a very fine mix of something.
