Does this Phalaenopsis need more water?

I'm experimenting with some orchids in hydroponics. My Phalaenopsis is growing, but I'm concerned that the roots aren't as plump as they should be. Thoughts?

They look fine to me.

Sometimes the surface of the LECA is a bit dry but the roots will be continually moist when they get deeper into the pot.

When was the plant potted?

I used to grow in semi Hydroponics and use the leca as well. From the pics I don't see anything wrong with those roots. They will work their way down into the medium and be quite happy there.

I switched it over back in August. It's grown a lot of roots since and even started working on a second leaf.

It is a baby! Stop expecting the roots to look like a mature plant and just give it time.
