Phalenopsis orchid with holes in the leaves
Hi,
I have my phalenopsis outside for the summer on a retaining wall. They have holes in the leaves, I think it might be slug damage. My question is do I bring them in and wait for the damaged leaves to fall off or call it a day and trash them? One of the plants has a spike but the other 5 don't. Any help is appreciated :( |
Why would you trash them? The damage is purely cosmetic if it is due to snails or slugs. The plants will at worst look ugly for a few years. Just make sure that there are no hitchhikers when you bring the plants in. If you don't have pets you can use slug pellets, otherwise I put cucumber slices on the top of medium before going to bed, and the next morning they are usually underneath the slices. repeat until you don't catch any more.
