Oncidium sharry baby ' sweet fragrance'

I had my doubts about growing this under lights, but I figured it out. When it spikes I poke the new growth away from the light stand and stake it. This way it grows as big as it wants.
The smell lives up to its reputation. It is chocolatey and sweet, also it is very powerful. Mine makes a sweet scent cloud that engulfs half the kitchen |
Beautiful, but just a pup. These get huge!

Haha, yeah mine is still young. I am hopeful that I can grow this under lights if I divide it every so often.
I refuse to give up on her the smell is truly wonderful. |
Having read your thread on growing under LEDs, you seem to be ignoring an aspect that could really help you out.
Rather than relying on a single-, or small number of lamps at a relatively close distance to the plants, consider more lamps/more wattage at a greater distance. That way, the plants get the light levels they need without any mechanical interference at all. |
Nice! I grow mine in a west window. It's on it's second bloom spike. Mmmmm, chocolate!
