Dendrobium Mini Snowflake - how to grow?
Bought my first dendrobium 'Mini Snowflake' at the orchid show yesterday. I was told this likes very bright light, keep it on the dry side, can handle warmth, keeps its flowers for months, and stays small. I'll be growing under T5's or metal halide with a little supplemental window light.
I've been trying to read up on dendrobiums (so far I've grown mainly phals, phaius, and minicatts), but everything says they vary so much depending on type, and I haven't found this particular variety anywhere. Any suggestions? Thanks! |
Hi Sheila :)
Mini Snowflake is a very forgiving little 'chid. I picked one up at the WOC :) They don't need as much light or heat as a lot of other Dens. Moderate lighting and temps anywhere from cool-warm is fine for this one. It's a New Guinea Den, so if you can find any info on those in general, you may get a better idea of it's treatment. |

thats a nice little dendro, and blooming twice a year, and easy to care for; sounds like a perfect orchid
