Dendrobium Hibiki 'Pink Elephants'

My Dendrobium Hibiki is in bloom. If you like dendrobiums, I highly recommend this plant. The flowers will last for months. It makes an excellent specimen plant.

Care? Cold rest? This was on my wish list but I thought I read it needed a cold rest.

Great job!

Wonderful display!
My D. bracteosum is just preparing it's first flowering. Will be far less, of course, but similar in colour and shape.

I grow the Hibiki like the rest of my dendrobiums except I have it hanging in a basket. I am using Kiwi bark as the media. I don't give it a rest. Some growers recommend cutting back on the water and fertilizer when the new growths are mature but I don't. I fertilize all year round.

Wow, that's beautiful! A profusion of flowers that last for months would be right up my alley. I sure wish I had the space for one of those.
