My Homemade Plant Stand
 

Hi All,
Someone here on OB asked me to post pics of my homemade plant stand that I have in my sunroom. I have two good pics of it...one taken last summer, and one in Dec. They are bleacher style and not connected to each other, so each layer can be moved around.

This is really nice. I was thinking about building one of those also to stick outside. Like the look of it. An open and easy style.

It's nice to move the tiers around to accommodate my orchids according to sun needs. Right now I have two on one end and two on the other end of my sunroom. The light is getting stronger, but the snowbanks are sometimes in the way. Yes, I'm serious!
They are not fancy and I love that because I don't worry about spilling water or getting medium on it as that sometimes happens when you have to handle the pots or mist them. I may move it outdoors to my open porch this summer. Unless of course, we don't have a summer, which has been a dreading thought in this area.

Sheila, Not sure where you are located, but around here, the high school woodshop class is always looking for projects and usually only charge the cost of wood supplies. Just bring in a pic of what you want and give them dimensions and they should whip that out in no time. Just a thought. :)

KiKi, I like the plant stand. Good job. Great ideas come out of necessity. Did you use stairstep risers?
