Wow that is really cool looking! Thanks for sharing!

Wow, I dont know Bulbophyllums very well, but that is a beauty.Isn't it funny how plants from the opposite sides of the globe resemble each other? To me it looks like a Masdevallia.!

Lepanthes,
I know, doesn't it?? That's why I bought this one. I have a very very hot greenhouse in summer, and I have had a lot of disappointments trying to grow Masdevallias but I LOVE their flowers. So I bought this Bulbo that's very "Masdie-like".

Here is another...this photo isn't as good, the camera was focusing on the juvenile green jade vine inflo there I think instead of the flower...this one looks very similar to Bulbo blumei, its Bulbo masdevalliaceum:

As far as I understand it, Bulbos and Pleurothallids are somewhat closely related, not quite the same alliance, but the next best thing.
That Bulbo is way too cool. I think Bulbophyllum, Cirrhopetalum (and others in Bulbo alliance)and Masdevallia are the coolest orchid genera in the family, along with Restripia, Dracula.

I'm beginning to appreciate the odd ones more and more, especially the minis.

Bulbos and Cirrhos are perfect for my greenhouse environment. I can hang them in the bauhinia trees and in the shade of some of the big tropical vines and they all like to be pretty wet. I have collected quite a few, most are mounted, but the ones in pots have crept over the sides and started trailing. I think they are way cool. I have a few new ones coming from Andy's, supposed to be here...TOMORROW!!!!!! Christmas!

I've always liked blumei though I've never tried growing it.

I love Bulbos and alliance, but I can never get them to rebloom. I have three genera,
Bulbophyllum, Cirrhopetalum, and Rhytionanthos plumatum
