About phal sogo yukidian?

Hi again. I had mentioned in an earlier (and unrelated post) that I just purchased a Phal Sogo Yukidian. I got it online, from a seller I trust on ebay. It hasn't arrived yet-but I can't wait!It has 3 spikes, or did at the time of the listing. Anyway, as I have no more room on my counter (light garden) where the majority of my phals are, I intend to place this new addition in a south facing window that I have hung a sheer white curtain to cut the light intensity. I have 3 other phals that have been there for 2 years, and have all flowered well, so it seems ok. I have a heat mat (really a 'window sill' mat that they are on to keep the root areas warm ( I live in Vermont!). Anyway, sorry to be so long winded here-I have read that this particular phal can tolerate higher light levels than other phals. Does this mean it requires more light?

The key word may be tolerates. John will have a definite answer. Hang tight.

Thanks!

None of the Phals requires a lot of light. If one grows and blooms well, others will grow and bloom well in the same spot.

Sogo Yukidian is a classic, complex white hybrid. There is nothing unique about it one way or another as far as culture is concerned.

Thanks. Good to know. :)

I have Phal. Sogo Yukidan. (It is in semi hydro now) It takes as much light as the other phals. It is a super large white phal, and has a lot of long lasting blooms per spike. If you keep it in one spot, they do a nice cascade.

The foul Sogo Yucatan that I bought from eBay arrived disease. Possibly with a virus. In a futile attempt I repotted it from The Pact Moss into a mix of moss or kiata bark and charcoal. And then I posted quite a bit here on the OB and sent pictures of the issues that this orchid has. Long story short today I dumped it out into the backyard. I cannot take the chance of bring a plant into my house. I have 27 other orchids and I don't want them sick. The seller did refund me period but I really want a Sogo Yukidan V3. This one had three spikes. I am really disappointed in the whole experience.
