Pholidota Imbricata
My Pholidota Imbricata has 5 new growths!!! When I first got it I repotted it in this basket and it hasn't don't anything until a year later. I was so afraid it was just dying on the inside... obviously that's not the case!

I've never seen one in spike, but I can't imagine that would be something else. Congratulations!

Thank you sir, I referred to orchidspecies.com and it said that the flower spikes do emerge from new growths like so https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...26e59d5d46.jpg My plant currently has 5 new growths so does that mean 5 flower spikes 🤔🤔 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
"Imbricata" means "woven together" - exactly like the buds in your photo, and in the drawing.

They're an interesting genus to me. I crave plants that have some sort of cascading inflorescence if space and conditions allow. My pholidota has only one new growth showing...as good as I can do in NJ! Keep us posted.

As exspected each new growth is producing a flower spike, it's going to be quite a show! Also the root growth is still phenomenal there's roots that are even starting to curl around the holes in the basket!
Slowly this guy is making his way up to one of my favorite plants 😁 Attachment 126685 Attachment 126686 Attachment 126687 Attachment 126688 Attachment 126689 |
