Liparis grossa

Not sure if this is the correct alliance. This Liparis is an easy grower and can make a very nice specimen plant. The apricot orange colored flowers are very small. A few spikes were eaten or broken off by birds (Bulbul birds) which is a pest in my area.

Absolutely gorgeous!!!! My plant dictionary tells me this is in the Malaxideae which is not covered by any of our subforums so it goes in the miscellaneous subform. Thank you for sharing!

Good growing. It is a native species in south part of my country.

This is the same plant 5 days later with more buds in bloom. I thought the older flowers would close up and fall off but all the flowers seem to be hanging on. This would be a good plant to make into a specimen plant.

Old thread but no need to make a new one. I got one of these back in May of this year as a tiny little thing and figured it would take a few years to reach blooming size. Guess I was wrong  and yes, it got a little sunburnt from the changing of the seasons and sun re-positioning.

Thanks! Got it at a show earlier this year along with my Den. Anceps, FDK After Dark 'SVO Black Pearl', a few Phals., and a Dendrochilum wenzelii...oh, and an Encyclia cochleata. Sadly, the Dendrochilum wenzelii is no longer with me (got it home and unpotted it to find no roots and was unable to save it - I think it had a bigger issue than just no roots).
