Even corn is better on the grill

That's hilarious! When I first saw the title I expected this to be about eating grilled corn - a true delight!
Years ago, when people still really asked reference librarians questions (I know that dates me) a man came to my desk. His voice was utterly serious, and he said, "I want to find instructions to build a bird-proof squirrel feeder." He felt that it was unfair that so many people used squirrel-proof bird feeders and wanted to help the poor, hungry rodents out for a change. Keep in mind, here, that this was in pre-Internet days (yes, I DID know Methusela, he's my cousin). I spent the better part of an hour going through just about every print source available in Charlotte, North Carolina. I found, indeed, plans to build squirrel feeders, but not a one was bird-proof. |
I think ours is. It is a gallon glass jar which sits in a kind of holder that allows them to go in the side and turn into the jar.
We noticed our corn vanishing, cob and all. Then we saw one if the 'babies' dragging an ear out of the feeder and 20 or 30 feet across the deck. Jumped into the tree and off to who knows where. It is s stitch. When I was young, we didn't treat them so kindly. |

Eeeww, you got snow already!!! :(
Cute squirrel, :) |
Snow!!!! We got 6" Sunday. Next week is suspected to be 18 degrees.
That is 'Mama' squirrel. She has two black babies, yearlings, we feed them because they are well behaved. They don't eat the Xmas lights and aren't in the attic. Unlike past squirrels who buried the lights in the flower bed...bulb by bulb. |
