Slc Red Jewel
Bought this from Santa Barbara orchid estate. I almost killed it. It flowered again last April after a 2 year hiatus. It grew all summer after I added some sphagnum into the pebble based mix. it seems to like it, now it is giving me three petite colorful blooms.
Enjoy Andrew http://i1260.photobucket.com/albums/...psfyctjdbt.jpg http://i1260.photobucket.com/albums/...psxaa9iwvx.jpg http://i1260.photobucket.com/albums/...psr27p5bii.jpg |

Magnificent!!

Great looking flowers :) Just looked at the parentage; as it appears, almost 63% Soph. coccinea in this; spot on with the moss; coccinea in particular likes to be kept moist, but not wet. How large is the plant height-wise? Looks like it fits comfortably in the mini-Catt category..?
Thanks for sharing! |
Wow,wow,wow!

Mr. Flexdc,
It looks like two years was worth the wait. Wonderful results. I see where you are in a zone 10 which is great for a species which loves the high light. How do you think a plant like this would do in a zone 6? Respectfully, T.H. |
dang, what a nice RICH color!! its beautiful, and I love it!!
