OK Boys & Girls - This is it

We have closing dates for selling our home in PA and buying the new one in NC, and the activity level surrounding both is unbelievably busy.

I drove home on Monday, and am back in NC now, returning in a few days. I will be open for business next week, and then will be "closing" the store altogether until we're settled, which might be January.

In addition to the "clearance pricing" in place on most products, with the use of the BONUS20 code, you will get an additional 20% off of all chemicals, and shipping is free on most orders over $25.

Good luck, Ray! I hope everything goes perfectly during your move!

Best wishes for a smooth closing on both properties, and an uneventful move. Yes, I know, sounds like some pretty dull wishes from me, but dull is usually best in such matters.

I know you have mentioned it before - what town are you moving to in NC?

Ray 11-10-2016 07:26 AM

A "dull" transition would be fantastic! This will be residence #19 for me, and the first move I'll have to pay for (prior ones were mostly corporate relocations).

We're headed to Oak Island, NC, which is about 25 miles north of the SC border. The nearest town of any size is Wilmington, about 45 minutes away.

Having lived mostly on the east coast, where the ocean is always east, this'll be a tough one to accept - the island runs east-west, so if you're at the beach, you're facing south. Our back yard, in the intracoastal waterway, faces north.

Congratulations and wishing you a great few weeks to come.
I once had dreams of moving NC. Oh well.

I lived in Wilmington, in fact my daughter was born there 44 years ago today. It was a nice place to live, very tiny town then. Wonderful memories of the area.

Thanks, but the truth is recent events have opened my eyes. What can you do but work for a better future for your kids. I fell in love with Route 209 in the Appalachians. My wife and I looked at several properties, but things have come to light and I'm convinced it would not be a good idea anymore. Anyway, just venting and I don't want to hijack the thread anymore than I already have.

My son, now 33, was born in Myrtle Beach, when we lived in Georgetown. Back then SC education ranked 49 in the nation, with our county being the worst in the state. I was offered a move north, with a promotion and raise (that didn't compensate for the higher cost of living), but the opportunity for an excellent education for my kids trumped everything.

Congratulations and Happy Birthday to your daughter.

Ray good luck with the move.

A question, how long will the inocucor and kelpmax last in a dark cool place?
