Hi all,

I have this Catt. percivaliana which has been with me several years 3+. Now I wonder if this is the a normal size for the plant. Those of you who have this plant, can you please donate your opinions. Thank you,

César

I have a semi alba, and mine is bigger than that.

Now I'm worried!

This is the size of my percivalianas, 14-16 inches from bottom of pseudobulb to leaf tip. There are some that may be a bit smaller (12 inches).

I think yours is still small. Give it a little more light and feeding and the next new growth may be bigger with a sheath. If not, perhaps the following year. Is the parentage listed on the tag?

Oh boy. I knew something wasn't right. Ok. I have been growing it under t5 lights, but it had been sitting maybe 12 inches away from the lights. Now I have it only 4 inches below the lights. But now I'm thinking of just putting it by a window with some sun.
Thanks for the opinion. Your's look great!

Mine, which is mature and blooms yearly is quite a bit larger than that too. Pretty much like Leslie' s for height I am thinking, without running out to the greenhouse and measuring.

Thanks Silken. I got to make some space for it on one of my windowsills.

I don't give mine any different care than most of my standard Catts. I am wondering if in winter, the daylight will be enough and long enough on a window in NY. Mine is under T5 lights in winter and I run them 12 hours.

My window will get about 6 hours in the winter, no sun at all in the summer. The intensity is so much more than t5's. I think I will experiment.

Six hours of light might not be enough but I have grown percivalianas in the windows all year and they still did fine in south side.
