Difficulty getting on the site
 

Anyone know why it is so difficult to get on the site at times, quite often in fact? Pages seem to take forever to load even though I have very fast internet.

It's been an unfortunately ongoing issue for a while. I know that Rosie had tried to make Marty aware of it, tho I can't recall if she had heard back from him ...

Hi Ron, it's been awhile. Yes we are all having problems with the sight. It sometimes takes so long one never gets through the sight or it won't let you post on a thread so on you go.

I also experience this, and I'm guessing it is related to some ad (or the server serving the ad, which is external to the forum server). I haven't tried it, but some ad blocker might do the trick.

I PM'd Marty long ago now when people first started complaining, but I never heard back.

Is Marty not around anymore? That would be a shame.

As far as I know he is around. But he did have some health issues a few years back and I don't know anymore than that. Maybe his interests or life have taken him elsewhere??

I've installed ad blocking plug-ins after I suggested the blocker 2 days ago. OB loads much quicker and I haven't had the slowness which I used to experience almost every day. Indeed, amazing amount of speed up. For Chrome and Firefox, uBlock Origin seems to be best. For Safari, I'm using Ad Blocker Plus. From the reviews, Adblock Plus may remove more ads, but it requires more computational resources. Here are the links:
