Usual bloom time for C. walkeriana?
Hi all I received my first C. walkeriana in June of this year. It seemed a bit beat up when I got it a lot of dead roots but I think it is doing ok now. I have noticed new roots and a couple nice round new pseudobulbs and leaves. I'm just wondering if there is a usual bloom time for this type of cattleya? Thanks for your time and help.

In situ I believe that they bloom in the fall; though there is anecdotal evidence that they can (do) bloom off and on throughout the year if they are happy.

We just need to be careful whether we are talking about the northern hemisphere or the southern hemisphere where walkeriana originates.

I have several in my collection and from my observation they bloom late winter through spring and some even into summer.
My best flower: C. walkeriana semi-alba 'Kenny' Am/Aos Blooming mid January. |
Thank you for all the help! This is my first and only C. So I am hopeful that I have several up coming months here of possible blooming. Beautiful flowers Jerry.
