Well said, jkofferdahl.
I also spend some of my time each day looking at my orchids and it makes me feel good. My daughther told me this a few months ago: "Now that I've grown up, you've found yourself new babies!".:D

And each day I find something to get excited about; new roots on a mounted, a new leaf on a Phal, buds swelling.
There's always a surprise. Two days ago my baby stanhopea wardii showed two new leaves. Today, I've found spider mites in one of my phals.

Welcome back to the club! I've had a collection for a while, but my interest has piqued now that I am finished my PhD program and have more time to dedicate to them again. Over this past week, my hunt ended for a "black" orchid and I treated myself to a Monnierara Millennium Magic 'Witchcraft'.
