Phragmipedium in S/H as a time saver?

:hello
Before I get to my question I would just like to say that I am a little bit of a newbie. I am also a high school student. Seeing as the school season is almost upon me, I will not have as much time for my orchids :yikes::tombstone::bua: (I also have 3 hour swim practices each day)

I need a way to save time on maintenance on some of my orchids, although I have a phrag (they need lots of water, right?) that is the main one I'm worried about. So does anyone have any ideas on how to save time with my orchids, specifically involving S/H?

Semi hydro is easy. Just make sure the plants always have water in the bottom of the pot. Do not forget to fertilize often.

I let my plants dry up this summer. They are all alive and ok but I have wrinkled leaves. It's not hard to keep the bottom of the pot full. Well, I am one to talk. I let mine dry out but I have like 30 plants and...... I have a 7 year old daughter, work full time, I have 3 large fish tanks, 2 dogs and a parrot. I also have a husband too. He helps with our daughter and dogs. Yet he need attention too.

Semi Hydro is a great way to keep your plants alive. If you over water and they are ok. If you under water they are ok. You can not go wrong with it. I have mixed results with Phals in semi hydro. Mainly because I live where it gets cold. Phals do not like cold.

I have great luck with Paphs in semi hydro. I hear Phrags like it even more. It is worth a try. I have Catt and Onc in semi hydro doing just fine one even is in spike after going in to semi hydro. SO yeah I like it and I am a busy person.

Most orchids do well with a bit of neglect. It is when you try to much, problems happen. Well for me that is how it goes.

I think you should put your Phrag(s?) into S/H. Read about S/H on the Web site of the originator:
Semi-Hydroponics

My Paphs do great in S/H.

And my friends who were on swim teams are some of the most organized, healthy, successful people I know. Keep at it!
