Please help me save my orchid with mushy leaves and rot!
 

Hi all! I just joined this forum to elicit some help in saving my phal orchid. It was left in standing water, and now the leaves are rotten and mushy looking. The roots seem to be doing just fine now that they are out of the water, but the leaves are still getting worse, at the very least not improving. It's been about a week since I noticed it was in water. This orchid was a gift and it is extremely important to me. I also have a second orchid that now has one spot on one leaf that looks like the beginning of rot too. I have no idea what to do.

The pictures below are of the orchid that was standing in water, except the last picture which is the spot on the leaf of the otherwise healthy plant.

I would remove it from it's pot, and trim any mushy roots and repot into fresh bark. It may need to go into a smaller pot depending on how many roots are left, healthy ones will be either green or silver coloured. I would also cut of any mushy leaves, using a clean blade and you can if you want dust any cut surfaces of the leaves with cinnamon powder which has anti fungal properties, do not get it on the roots. It looks like the leaves have been sunburnt, so put the plant in a shady area with no direct sunlight. Keep it moist but not wet, and then hope for the best. It may not pull through, and will take several years to look decent again. If it was mine I would throw it out and start with a fresh one, but given it's sentimental value it's worth a try. This^^ I think it's a goner as it looks like the crown is rotting as well. It may just grow a keiki but it will be a long road. Welcome to the board.

Thank you for the suggestions, I'll be taking each and every one of them! I hope it can pull through. I didn't realize it was sunburned at all, so I have moved it under my plant light instead of where it was. I'll clean it up and keep my fingers crossed.
I didn't even think of a keiki growing, so that's some hope I didn't have before. Anything I could do to encourage the plant to produce one? (I have heard of the paste you put on leaf nodes, or something like that.) Or should I try to focus on it healing first?

IF the crown is damaged, I agree with No-Pro-mwa and think it will probably grow a basal keiki when it senses it cannot produce a new leaf from the usual growing point. Keep it a bit dryer in plain bark and water in the region of once a week to start with. This is assuming the main stem is not mushy which is very serious. Most phal problems are temporary and they normally bounce back well and find creative ways of staying alive and keep growing - you will need some patience though
