Phalaenopsis Hieroglyphica

Well, there is always a risk for the name being wrong, but that's what the label says.

Started to open on wednesday, and I am really curious :p

Doesnt seem to open fully, or maybe I need to give it more time. Anyway, its a fascinating flower, I think I like it. A bit yellow, and uneven coloring. Think time will fix that.

And with some more light you can see some cute details. Glossy, and hairy.

The plant itself has leaves on the long and thin end, not very round and fat. This one have some yellowing at the stem, so I placed it in a window with a noID phal that is recovering from the almost fatal summer/fall last year. More known as "the period my owner got hung up in life and forgot all about the plants, forgetting to even supply water…" (yeah, sorry about that, but hey- most did recover).
They both need an eye kept on them, they are allowed only as long as they dont become a treath for the rest of the collection. Not really that worried about viruses, its only private plants. But I will not spread it by taking untested plants at orchid places. Lol, not that there are many places to go either.

Anyway, for size. Both plants are in 14cm (5,5" ?) containers.
Got it in april:

Its a keeper, but again- need to find another place for it, or mount it or something. Flowers not really showing very well in the windowsill. Doesnt have a scent. (I believe, it smells like liodoro in the living room, so maybe a bit hard to tell… :p )

I'm fairly confident that this is hieroglyphica.

What is the temp range you grow it in?

Mostly it is 22C (71F), but there is a drop in winter at night time. Indoor in windowsill. Humidity is about 30%, its low- my home is pretty dry.

Love it!

I agree, that's what the flowers on mine look like too. One of my favorite phals.

Beautiful, love the hairy lip.

I translated the hieroglyphs with the help of an online dictionary. They say "Helene is doing a great job growing me."
