Dendrobium aphyllum keikis

Hello,

My dendrobium aphyllum decided to produce more Keikis than flowers.

How do I go about them? Should I cut the stem and pot them up separately?

Kindly suggest!

I would say yes, but wait for someone who really knows. I have never done it but the roots look long enough to make it on there own. I would not put them in to big of a pot so you can watch the watering better. Good luck.

Yes, you can pot them up, although I would wait until the roots are a bit longer, especially on the second picture. When I have a group of keikis, I put them together in a compot until they show some growth (or fail to grow, as the case may be) and then put them in their own 2 inch pots. Meanwhile, I would mist the roots with a kelp mixture, if you have it, to spur the root growth.

The longer they stay on the mother plant, the better their chances of surviving. I wouldn't remove them this year. I would wait until spring 2017 when they will have made second or more growths.
