Received a huge gift of Paphs. I need help.
 

I just received a nice size gift of Paphs now I'm wondering the care they each need or can I just keep them together? In this collection I have three different Roths, one seedling coming from both AOS FCC winners. The other plants I received were A Paph. Gigantifolium, Paph. Supardii, Paph. Sanderianum, Paph.Chiu Hua Dancer, a Paph. Phillipenense. They seem pretty healthy and I would love to keep them but I'm not familiar with their culture. I know thy like high humidity, they don't like bright light and love to be moist. Any culture tips would be greatly appreciated. I'd hate to lose these fabulous plants. Thank you.

First, are you in Chicago or Puerto Rico?

Of those, I only have a seedling rothschildianum. These species and hybrids want more light than other Paphs. My roth did not burn in early morning sun when a spotted leaf Paph hybrid beside it did.

High humidity is good. My seedling is fine between 40%-70%.

They don't like to dry completely, but even worse is staying soggy wet. You need to soak them, then let them get almost dry.

They need regular fertilizer, too, but much less than some other orchids.

Wow, that is quite a gift! I wish I could help, but I am still working on learning Paph culture. Those are all beautiful species or hybrids - I wish you the best of luck!

I'm not a phap expert but synthesising what I've learn so far, and I like to keep things as organized as possible, is this:

Mottled leaves - warm environment
Plain leaves - cool environment

Most of them like humidity so never let them go dry.
None of them like to swim so never let them sit in water or let the medium wet or damp.

Most of them, with some exceptions, like medium to low light and no direct sun.

Depending on the plants you have, you need to adapt your environment.

This is just to help you with a starting point.

For the meantime I have repotted all of them in clear pots and I have also placed them on a humidity tray. Clear pots really are my guide right now with water.

I currently keep them on a large humidity tray and all in clear pots. I also have a grow light on them until I feel just a little more comfortable taking them outside.

When in doubt, ship them out! …to me. ;)

Estacion Seca instructions are correct All of these should be grown with the same level of light as Cattleya (= 35-45% shade).

They should do really well outside in Chicago during the summer, perhaps not in full sun all day. They should also do well in the more humid parts of PR.
