That's much better than the other ones whose photos I've seen.

And manages with our humidity? It gets to 40's just how many blocks from you hmmm... Very cool flower...

The whole "Vandas need high humidity to grow" thing is a myth if you water enough.

I leave it out through out the winter in Hollywood and it fares just fine. A few nights in the mid to lower 40s did not set it back a bit. I think one of the parent is from the foothills of the Himalayas forgot which one.
I bought it from Santa Barbara orchid estate, according to them their temp regularly drops down to low 40s in winter at night and they grow these without heat.

V Paki = tricolor x cristata. 'Suavis' is a variety of V tricolor.

And that's why i get a lotta stuff from them... if their plants grow well outdoors there, then here it should work, minus the 90 degree weather we'll probably get more of this year...oy! that and sboe is literally blocks from the other half's family... where we were this last weekend, and I had a list and everything and they were closed for mother's day! shucks...

anyway, add this vanda to the list i guess...
