Pleurothallis luctuosa is full of buds

I've had this plant for two years and this is the first time it has bloomed for me. Every leaf has buds, and it is going to be awesome.

Maybe a better picture

Good luck! I am looking forward to the blooms!
I just have the Pleurothallis rubella but I really think these are very neat orchids. :) |
Leafmite, I'm looking forward to them as well. I don't have the rubella but I should, it is really a neat plant. The rubella reminds me of the Platystele stenostachya from pictures I've seen. Is the rubella as tiny as the stenostachya?
|
Yes, actually, my Platystele stenostachya and my rubella look very much alike except the Platystele is usually in bloom and the other hasn't bloomed for me, yet.
|
The Platystele stenostachya is a favorite of mine, just so cute and those tiny blooms.
|
The flowers are really cute but I keep a magnifying glass nearby to actually see them clearly.
|
Hahaha, me too! Big ole magnifying glass
|
And macro lens for taking pictures....

Very happy for you! that species is on my wishlist... something similar and a bit smaller I do have is p. amphygia... blooms a lot.
Rubella has leaves that are just a bit longer and more narrow than stenostachya I found both bloom year round when grown well, although my stenostachya is in decline at moment... have to get another soon... ;) What did you think you did differently now that it got to budding? Can't wait to see pics of the flowers when they open! |
