First bloom Cattleya eldorado
 

My Cattleya Eldorado finally bloomed!:bananaslide: It is actually not as blue as in the photos.

Very pretty. I like the shape of it.

Is this coerulea form or just tipo in a blue cast lighting?

Has the flower fully expanded? Usually 3-4 days to reach full size. Perhaps a close up pic? Looks like a venosa form?

Today is its first day of being open. If it continues to expand and/or the color deepens, I will take another picture. Thx for the info. I know a lot of orchids do that.:biggrin:

It is a seedling, possibly a selfing, of C. Eldorado concolor punctata. The lip must have reverted to wild tipe as far as the concolor was concerned, but in the center of the purple margin you can see a slight darkening, probably from the punctata characteristic.:scratchhead: The main development since yesterday cannot be photographed. There is now a strong, spicy fragrance.

I took this picture outdoors. Hopefully the colors look better
