Cattleya schroederae 'Golden Eye'
 

This is one of my three different schroederaes coming into bloom this season. The cotton candy pink contrasts nicely against the golden ring inside the throat (thus the name). Form is not bad for the species, with an erect dorsal sepal and a decent size at 12 cm.... And smells like cotton candy too!

This is the second schroederae ... Not as nice form but more vigorous... Note the different lip patterns in different PBs on same plant! Maybe due to it's 4N stats?

Very nice. I prefer the 1st one. I have a white one just opening up too! Very reliable nice species.

I also prefer the first one. The second one was supposed to be a semi-alba but looks like a typo with mosca markings. Would love to see your alba once in bloom.

I sent it to the orchid show yesterday which starts today. It was in swollen bud and I sure hope it opened! It got a blue ribbon last year :)

These are gorgeous. I think "cotton candy" describes the color well! I don't know much about these N numbers. I suppose that is a question I will have to ask!!!

There lovely, I think I like the color of the second one best. The form of course of the first one.

The 4N means a polyploid plant. It grew 5 new growths last summer, but 3 blasted and only these two growths bloomed :(
