Eulophia x Cymbidium
I just found an entry in the web - Eulobidium Rakthai - but did not find any photograph of the supposed hybrid.
Someone with access to hebsco host/libraries can help me find out if there is a photograph at all? Any other ideas where I could look for more information concerning the intrageneric hybrids between the two subtribes? Thank you! |

There doesn't seem to be any information out there about Eulobidium Rakthai except that it is indeed a registered hybrid (Eulophia andamanensis x Cymbidium aloifolium), registered in 2013 by P. Rakthai, and it is the only registered Eulobidium.
A quick check of OrchidWiz did find some other hybrids between Eulophiinae and Cymbidiinae subtribes though. I will try to get back with a list of them soon, but I noticed that maybe all of them come from a single nursery, Jumbo Orchids in Taiwan. You will find some photographs on their website, and they would seem to be the experts if you are looking for more information. |
Thank you! I'll have a quick look there, too!

Thank you.
I had a look at Jumbo Orchids and did see the photographs in their gallery; I knew that place already, but it is always stunning to see. Mostly how a weird and complicated flower like a Catasetum flower turns something dull and simple when crossed - not always though, clowesetum have gorgeous flowers, too. But there seems not to be a single picture of Eulobidium. I'll keep searching from time to time. |
