Cattleya lueddemaniana var aquinada 'CrimsonTides'
A rare beautiful aquinada form of a blush pink (rosada) Cattleya lueddemaniana that started opening two days ago. The color contrast is amazing on the lip, especially the deep magenta lines on the top of tube. The surprise for me was the flares on the petals! It really accentuates the crimson lip color. At 15 cm, the size is very respectable. A keeper!

another psychedelic one! really stunning... it's amazing these catts you have are species...
what kind of light are you growing these at? |
Thanks UBada. I collect the unusually marked cattleya species.
I grow my lueddemanianas under four tubes of T5s; two each of 10,000K and 2700K. They are set at 10 hours in winter and 14 hours in summer; important to keep minimum 63F nights in winter (warmer than other mountain catts). Below 60F nights in winter, they sulk. Up to 85F days year round. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
