Can you cross a monopodial with a sympodial and what is the result if it works? :scratchhead:

While there are intergeneric hybrids between quite distant members of the orchid family, I have never seen one crossing the monopodial/sympodial border.

I don't know if it still exists, but at one time the was an award available for the first to create such a cross through genetic engineering.
