Some Cattleya bloomers
Some of my Cattleya alliance species that have bloomed over the past few months.
Brassavola retusa – a cute little plant. This is only it’s 2nd blooms so not a lot of flowers but it grows out in all directions so in a few years it should be a wonderful little clump of blooms. http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psnrpeywbz.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psti13swuc.jpg Brassavola cebolleta - awful glare in the first pic but it gives a good idea of the growth habit http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psxpffsgif.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps879qk9k9.jpg C walkeriana semi-alba – one of my favorites and this particular walkeriana blooms longer than any of my others. This one typically lasts a month (give or take). Wonderful fragrance! http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psugzcbob4.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psqti1zxvm.jpg C maxima ‘Thunder Mountain’ http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psomvc0rec.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps73emmqrq.jpg C maxima alba 'Koningen Sylva' SM/DOG – another maxima…I love this species so much that I have 6 or 7 varieties. This one has been more difficult to bloom than any of the others. I got the division back on ’09 and it’s grown beautifully but this is it’s first bloom. I do believe it was worth the wait. http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps7ibqnewt.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...pseb1coib0.jpg Another C maxima ‘Priscilla’ x ‘Daniella’ - a first bloom on this clone. http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psxk8uh4xu.jpg Laelia anceps var veitchiana – a first bloom for me on this one. http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psrlsmdjvz.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...pss2n9i0cs.jpg Laelia autumnalis http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...pshw9gefhc.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...pswhnjvhlh.jpg Cattleya perrinii semi-alba (formerly Laelia) - love the shape of perrinii! Very large flowers. This is another species where I have several varieties because I do love them so much. http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...pst0gahmu9.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psl3zwyzpq.jpg Cattleya perrinii ‘Big Bugga’ AM/AOS http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps3z0sru2f.jpg Cattleya jenmanii http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psbk19esyc.jpg Cattleya labiata v rubra ‘Shuller’ x C labiata v rubra ‘Ching Hua’ http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psbumieir7.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psrvmflpzm.jpg Cattleya labiata coerulea ‘Natural World’ AM/AOS x self http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psar5xka0u.jpg Cattleya dolosa coerulea http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...pszi96yuvz.jpg Cattleya jongheana – this one bloomed much earlier last year...it got lost on my phone. Too gorgeous to be forgotten so better late than never. http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps4gtq33gi.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...pspgqb2ekt.jpg Prosthechea vitellina (formerly Encyclia) Super long lived blooms…it started blooming in Sept and did not finish until last January. http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psqdjhqksm.jpg Sophronitelia (Isabelia) violacea [URL=http://s405.photobucket.com/user/kat1266/media/late%202015_Feb%202016%20orchids/Sophronitelia%20violacea_zpsg8z5fqks.jpg.html]http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...psg8z5fqks.jpg[/UR ---------- Post added at 07:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:14 AM ---------- Almost forgot --- Sobralia decora ‘Everglades’ – a small sobralia…likely won’t ever be more than 15”-18” tall. http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...pstuvinzub.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...pszrwdv1ui.jpg |
