First noid phal rebloom ever!

Hey guys!

I'm back with some (for me exciting) news!

Thanks to this website and some youtubers, I got my first rebloom from scratch!
I'm really happy with myself right now

I bought this plant in bloom almost a year ago. I didn't know what to look for in an orchid back then so I just picked this one for the blooms. It had some burns on the leaves and as you can see the plant is pretty much purple.

Now a small question is could the color of the whole orchid change over time because of lighting?
The new leaf is much more green from the base as you will see in the picture. But I don't know if the orchid stays so purple because it's still in such high light (it didn't burn more on it's spot over summer in my house) or if it's just the color now.

Anyway, this is the little nubbin it started out with! I noticed this in October last year :)

And yesterday afternoon I took a look and saw this!

So this morning I went over to check again, and it's opening, slowly!

It's always a thrill when you manage to rebloom any orchid for the first time. Enjoy!

Bravo on the new bloom. I love speckly flowers! So, purple phals. Many Phalenopsis orchids have very purple leaf undersides. There is nothing wrong with it, and nothing that you can do about it either. It is just how they are. I think that the purple line is more in the DTPS line-- anyway, I am not a plant biologist. I have several very dark purple phals. The good thing is that you have awesome looking roots, and you are getting healthy looking flowers, so at my level of understanding, you are doing everything right! :)

Isn't it so much fun. And the other thing is, it never gets old. Congratulations.

Thanks optimist :D Wasn't until I got some real information about orchids that it worked. There are too many misunderstandings about these plants!

Would this mean that the newest leaf will eventually turn (more) purple like the rest? It doesn't matter to me, I'm just curious.

Thanks no pro! :D I don't think I could get sick of such rewarding plants!
